You’re the queen of all you see
There’s something more than this
The king of what’s begun
There’s something more than this
There’s something more than this
There’s something more than this
There’s something more than this
There’s something more than this
These two hours were perhaps the most creative two hours I've ever spent in the studio. The demo of "Sour Milk" was a non-dynamic, boring song with great lyrics. We were faced with the challenge of making the song more interesting. We did that by putting the acoustic guitar in the song as little as possible, where before it was the main instrument of the song. We filled the two big spaces where it was omitted with really cool sounds. In the breakdown after the bridge, we added a harmonium organ part. I also changed the chord progression to start with the minor of the pattern. This made it really dark sounding. Then, to top it all off, John and I constructed a new intro to the song. I was out in the main room playing the piano and he miked the piano without telling me. Then, he recorded me for about ten minutes. We then found a passage in the performance that would make a good intro to the song. We also added some ambient noise which included vinyl crackle and the sound of the radio dial changing very rapidly. The finished product reminded us of "Vera" from Pink Floyd's The Wall.

Did the devil grab your tongue?
With an over-easy sigh?
With his underwater eyes?
Every time you cry
Yeah, every time you smile
And every time you shine
As you’re free to be yourself
Yeah, you and no one else
You’re free to be yourself
With treasure, heart and shelf
Free to be, free to be
Would you send me a kiss?
‘Cause I’m Gustaf Klimt
And I can’t find the words
Here in Webster’s list
So don’t you beat me down
With Luther’s fist
There’s something more something more than this
In a caramel taffy shape
With his crystal razor face
And a copper penny taste
He’s a comet tail in haze
He’s a comet tail, a comet tail
Would you send me a kiss?
‘Cause I’m Gustaf Klimt
And I can’t find the words
Here in Webster’s list
So don’t you beat me down
With Luther’s fist
There’s something more than this
Would you send me a kiss?
‘Cause I’m Gustaf Klimt
And I can’t find the words
Here in Webster’s list
So don’t you beat me down
With Luther’s fist
There’s something more
Would you send me a kiss?
‘Cause I’m Gustav Klimt
And I can’t find the words
Here in Webster’s list
Yeah, don’t you beat me down
With Luther’s fist
There’s something more
There’s something more than this
Would you send me a kiss?
‘Cause I’m Gustav Klimt
And I can’t find the words
Here in Webster’s list
So don’t you beat me down
With Luther’s fist
There’s something more, something more than this
Send me a kiss
There’s something more than this
Cause I can’t find the words
There’s something more than this
Yeah, don’t you beat me down
There’s something more than this
There’s something more than this
