Be Silent, My Everything
Unreleased

If I was your saint
Would your temple know?
Would you let me in to pray?
And if I was your heart
Would you cut me out?
And go outside to play?

You don’t have to cry tonight
Save your tears for another day
You’re all I need behind these eyes
I’ve been so alone
For the longest time
And nothing else
Everything is silent now
Goodnight, my love

And if I was your dream
Would you shut me out?
Just wake up every day
And if I held your seams
Would you come undone
And just throw it all away?

You don’t have to cry tonight
Save your tears for another day
You’re all I need behind these eyes
I’ve been so alone
For the longest time
And nothing else
Everything is silent now
Goodnight, my love

Should have all been torn apart
Did you ever feel this part?
Like water rushing through your hands
You’ll never understand

You don’t have to cry tonight
Save your tears for another day
You’re all I need behind these eyes
I’ve been so alone
For the longest time
And nothing else
Everything is silent now
Goodnight, my love

Be silent
Goodnight, my love
Be silent
Goodnight, my love
Be silent
Goodnight, my love
Be silent

Mike Garrigan on "Be Silent, My Everything":

I wrote it about eleven years ago. I recorded a demo tape called Be Silent, My Everything when I was a senior in high school. Most of the songs appeared on Building a Hole. I decided to write a song based around the title of that little project I did.
